§ 154-342. Disability.

  • In the event that any member, who is not otherwise entitled to a pension under this division and who shall become totally and permanently disabled by reason of injury, ill health, age, or infirmity, and who shall have ten or more years of creditable service or shall become totally disabled in line of duty, he shall be entitled to receive a disability pension based upon the same formula as computing a normal pension benefit, regardless of the age of such individual. Said pension shall be payable during life and the continuation of such disability. Such pension shall be granted only upon certification of at least two physicians, one of who shall be a county physician. The board of trustees shall have authority to make such rules and regulations as may be necessary to determine the procedure for the grant of disability pensions and the continuation of the same.
