Article III. MEDICAL EXAMINER |
§ 22-73. Creation of office of medical examiner; qualifications.
There is hereby created the office of Medical Examiner of Fulton County. To be eligible to be Medical Examiner of Fulton County, a person must have the following qualifications:
(1)
He must have a Doctor of Medicine Degree and be licensed to practice medicine under the provisions of O.C.G.A. tit. 43, ch. 34, (O.C.G.A. § 43-34-1 et seq.);
(2)
The medical examiner must be certified by the American Board of Pathology in forensic pathology; and
(3)
The medical examiner must have five years experience in the field of medico-legal death investigations.
