§ 158-37. Purpose.

  • The purpose of the development advisory committee shall be:

    (1)

    To advise the board of commissioners and the departments of development services, inspections and zoning enforcement, and public works on issues and matters of concern with regard to land development activities and regulations.

    (2)

    To advise the departments of development services, inspections and zoning enforcement, and public works in the development of recommendations concerning the interpretation and implementation of land development regulations.

    (3)

    To review and propose changes to existing and proposed land development regulations and amendments and advise the above-referenced departments and the board of commissioners on their impact and effectiveness.

    (4)

    To carry out such studies or investigations regarding the land development regulatory process or requirements as the board of commissioners may request from time to time.

    (5)

    The development advisory committee shall keep informed of new and innovative techniques, materials, methodology, and designs which would create or encourage overall quality development in Fulton County.

    (6)

    The development services department, inspections and zoning enforcement, public works department, and/or any other county department maintaining regulations pertaining to land development shall submit all regulations or amendments thereto to the development advisory committee for review and comment. It shall be the responsibility of the director of such department to provide written recommendations, including that of the development advisory committee, at a public hearing, where action by the board of commissioners is required to adopt or amend an ordinance.
