Article IV. PREJUDICIAL ACTS POLICY AND PROCEDURE |
§ 154-465. Supervisor's responsibilities.
Upon receiving a complaint, the supervisor will confer the initial complainant and take measures to ensure that all necessary preliminary actions have been taken and inform management (i.e., department head or deputy director) of the prejudicial act. The supervisor will request the assistance of appropriate personnel necessary to provide immediate assistance to the complainant, such as:
(1)
Expressing official position that said actions violate county policy and that measures will be taken to apprehend the perpetrators.
(2)
Allow the employee a period in which to ventilate his or her immediate concerns and express their feelings.
(3)
Conduct a standard preliminary investigation to include preliminary interviews of the employee and any witnesses to the incident. Ensure that all relevant facts are documented regarding an incident.
(4)
Notifying other appropriate personnel in the chain of command and the contract compliance and EEO department depending on the nature and seriousness of the offense, and its potential inflammatory and related impact on the department and Fulton County.
