§ 154-317. Persons ineligible to participate in pension fund.
(a)
Notwithstanding the provisions of section 154-316, the following persons shall be ineligible to participate in the pension fund established by this division:
(1)
Temporary or casual employees of Fulton County.
(2)
Employees of Fulton County hired on a contract basis for a specific task.
(3)
Elected officials who shall waive in writing the right to participate in pension funds maintained by Fulton County, in the manner provided by law.
(4)
Poll officers and election workers who are not regular employees of Fulton County.
(5)
Any person who shall be a contributing member or who shall be drawing pension benefits or has vested his rights under any pension fund maintained in whole or in part by Fulton County or from funds of Fulton County.
(b)
Notwithstanding any other provision of this division, any person initially participating in the plan established hereby shall not be entitled to any pension benefit for himself or any beneficiary if he shall have been discharged from county employment for cause. The sole benefit which such individual shall receive will be a refund of contributions made to the pension fund established hereunder without interest.
