§ 154-135.5. Members of sheriff's reserve as employees participating in worker's compensation plan.

Members of the sheriff's reserve who are certified by the Georgia Peace Officers'
Standards and Training Council shall be considered employees in accordance with O.C.G.A.
§ 34-9-1(a) for purposes of receiving worker's compensation benefits in the event
that such individuals are injured while performing duties at the direction and within
the scope of the sheriff of Fulton County.
Members of the sheriff's reserve are not to be considered employees for any other
purposes but, for other such purposes, shall retain the status of volunteer law enforcement
personnel.
The personnel director, in conjunction with the sheriff and county attorney, is hereby
directed to develop the procedural guidelines for implementing this policy.
