§ 154-41. Adverse actions and reprisals.

  • No disciplinary action or other adverse action shall be taken or threatened against any employee, nor shall any employee be intimidated by any supervisor or department head who has the authority to take, direct others to take, recommend, or approve any personnel action as a reprisal for an employee's membership or participation in any employee's organization or union. All members of employee organizations and unions shall be allowed to conduct standard and customary union activities, subject to the employee's compliance with Fulton County's leave policy or prior board of commissioners' approval for attending Fulton County functions. The personnel director is hereby directed to devise a policy and procedure for enforcement of the provisions of this section and further, to develop appropriate penalties for violations of this section, which penalties shall include dismissal for cause.
