§ 130-94. Functions.

  • (a)

    The Fulton County Board of Commissioners recognizes that the State of Georgia, through the region III emergency medical services council, has the sole authority and responsibility for administering the emergency medical systems communications program within Fulton County. However, the Fulton County Emergency Medical Services Board shall advise the board of commissioners concerning appropriate recommendations to be made to the region III emergency medical services council. The Fulton County Emergency Medical Services Board shall address and concern itself with recommending appropriate policies and procedures to guide the Fulton County Emergency Medical System; exploring adequate performance standards, and the possibility of sanctions, penalties and/or incentives for providers within the system; evaluating the cost and quality of emergency medical service being provided to the citizens of Fulton County; and performing such other tasks as may be assigned by the Fulton County Manager and/or the Board of Commissioners.

    (b)

    The board of commissioners may enact rules and regulations governing the Fulton County Emergency Medical Services Board, but the enactment of such rules shall not be construed as designating the Fulton County Emergency Medical Services Board as a legal entity capable of entering into contracts or being sued.
