§ 102-632. Development of justice plan.

  • The justice system coordinating committee shall engage in all activities sufficient to develop a justice plan including, but not limited to, the following:

    (1)

    Evaluation of what information is available and needed to make informed decisions about the justice system and to make recommendations about how to improve the gathering, transmission, and presentation of such information.

    (2)

    Identification of actual and potential problems within the various components of the justice system, determining the effects on the quality of justice dispensed, and working collectively to address and solve the problems.

    (3)

    Preparation of justice impact statements, which will analyze the funding and workload impact of existing and proposed legislation, executive branch orders or actions, and local judicial rules and policies, to show the relationship between action by one justice system component and the subsequent effect on the other components.

    (4)

    Evaluation of whether and to what extent the functions of certain components in the Fulton County Justice System should be coordinated or consolidated with the same function in other jurisdictions to become more cost-effective and efficient.

    (5)

    Evaluation of the budgets of each component of the justice system.

    (6)

    Evaluation of case loads in the various components of the justice system to determine whether any changes or adjustments should be made.

    (7)

    Coordination with other local, state, and federal agencies concerning justice system planning.

    (8)

    Evaluation of whether funding levels for the justice system are adequate and balanced and whether the funds are being put to their best use.

    (9)

    Evaluation of all procedures and procedures to determine their impact on the justice system and whether any changes or adjustments should be made.
