§ 58-108. General assembly may provide for exemptions to apply for inventories of certain goods in urban enterprise zones.

  • For the purposes of ad valorem taxation by Fulton County and the City of Atlanta, including ad valorem taxes for educational purposes, but excluding ad valorem taxes for state purposes, the general assembly may provide by local law that the exemptions applicable to inventories of certain goods, as provided for in the foregoing provisions of this [state] constitution, may apply within urban enterprise zones established by the governing body of the City of Atlanta, and in connection therewith, the general assembly may classify different types of goods subject to such exemptions and may vary the rate or amount of such exemptions from one such classification to another within and without such urban enterprise zones.
