§ 46-37. Definitions.

  • As used in this article, the term "garbage disposal system" may include incinerators, motor vehicles, and all other materials, equipment and supplies that may be necessary to clean streets and roads and collect and dispose of garbage and refuse of all kinds, and the personnel to operate the same; provided, however, that nothing in this article or section shall be construed to forbid Fulton County from acquiring by purchase or lease any land in the unincorporated area or from operating thereon a sanitary landfill or area for the disposal of public or private industrial waste, refuse and garbage; and provided further, the county may cease to operate [the] same and may sell any such land or area when its usefulness has ceased or the need for such facility has terminated in the judgment of the county authorities.
