§ 10-77. Creation of a program of volunteer legal services to poor people.

  • In all counties in this state having a population of 550,000 or more according to the 1970 United States decennial census, or any future such census, the chief judge of the state court of the county shall designate a nonprofit agency to develop, operate, and administer programs for the provision by attorneys within the county of volunteer legal services to low-income clients involved in civil matters within the jurisdiction of courts within the county. In designating such agency, the judge shall consult with the presidents of local bar associations within the county and with the directors of agencies within the county providing legal services to low-income clients in civil matters.
