§ 82-75. Using water through unauthorized connection.

  • (a)

    Imposition of charges. Should any person use water through any unauthorized pipe or connection, or without the permission of Fulton County, in addition to a tampering fine, charges shall be made against the premises for the estimated quantity of water used; and the water shall be cut off and not turned on again until the bill is paid and permission given for continuance of the supply.

    (b)

    Amount of charges. If water is used from an unauthorized connection, the charges shall be in accordance with the schedule of rates then in effect, plus a penalty listed on the current fee schedule approved by the board of commissioners. In addition, if the unauthorized use of unmetered water is from a fire hydrant, a connection charge and a daily charge for water used, plus the necessary repairs to the fire hydrant or to the waterworks system, may be made by the department of finance for each such unauthorized connection.
