§ 6-214. Transfer.
(a)
Licenses hereunder are not transferable, except as hereinafter provided. A change in ownership will require a new application and the issuance of a new license. No distance requirements apply if the location qualified for the original license. In case of the death of any person holding such a license, or any interest therein, the same may be transferred to the administrator, executor, or the lawful heirs of the deceased person, if otherwise qualified.
(b)
Licensee must make application to the police department to transfer to a new location. The police department must recommend approval or denial of the application for transfer of location to the board of commissioners. Should the licensee transfer to a new location approved by the board of commissioners, there will be no additional fee, and the new location will not be considered as a new license hereunder.
(c)
A licensee must report to the police department the disposal of any interest in the licensed business. If a licensee disposes of any interest in the licensed business without reporting the disposal of interest, the license will be subject to revocation or suspension in accordance with sections 6-203 and 6-204 of this article. Any change of ownership, taking place unreported, will also be subject to penalty of double the license fee, plus an investigation fee.
